Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)

The Department of Industrial Ecology at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) is one of Sweden’s leading technical universities covering a broad spectrum of activities from natural sciences to industrial and environmental engineering. We acted as lead partner of the INTERREG IIIB project Coastman, were involved in BaltSeaPlan and lead the Swedish research project evaluating the use of reed, algae and mussels for biogas production in Trelleborg and the Swedish part of the Baltic Sea from a sustainability perspective.

KTH’s role in SUBMARINER

KTH had an important role in the project, coordinating the section involving culture of macroalgae. KTH also acted as advisor to the various regional cases throughout the Baltic Region. We also assisted the Municipality of Trelleborg in hosting an algae cooperation event.
