Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)

The Department of Industrial Ecology at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) is one of Sweden’s leading technical universities covering a broad spectrum of activities from natural sciences to industrial and environmental engineering. We acted as lead partner of the INTERREG IIIB project Coastman, are currently involved in BaltSeaPlan and lead the Swedish research project evaluating the use of reed, algae and mussels for biogas production in Trelleborg and the Swedish part of the Baltic Sea from a sustainability perspective.

Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is an independent organisation whose overall objective is to promote the sciences and strengthen their influence in society. We seek chiefly to:

  • be a forum where researchers can meet across subject borders
  • offer unique research environments
  • support young researchers
  • reward prominent contributions to research
  • arrange international scientific contacts

Trelleborg Municipality

The Trelleborg Municipality is responsible for carrying out civic duties in the City of Trelleborg in southern Sweden. We are committed to the principles of Integrated Coastal Zone Management and serve as a model case for how these principles can be applied at the local level. We have not only undertaken extensive studies of the coastal and marine environments, but have also established a cross-sectoral approach bringing together diverse administrative bodies with the aim of developing a coherent approach to the diverse special interests that interact in our coastal area.
